Position Details

We are currently seeking a Day Shift Leading Hand & an Afternoon Shift Leading Hand to join our high-performing team at our Hemmant 3 facility in Brisbane.

About the Role

As a Leading Hand, you'll be responsible for coordinating daily warehouse activities while providing frontline leadership and support to operational team members.

Working closely with Supervisors and Operations leadership, you'll help ensure safety, productivity, quality and service standards are consistently achieved while fostering a positive and engaged team culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, direct and support warehouse team members throughout daily operations
- Allocate tasks and coordinate workflow to maximise operational efficiency
- Communicate performance expectations and provide coaching and guidance to team members
- Monitor operational activities to ensure service levels, quality and productivity targets are achieved
- Operate and guide others in the use of warehouse equipment and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Safely operate materials handling equipment in accordance with licensing requirements
- Assist with inventory, receipting, storage and dispatch activities
- Complete and review operational documentation and records
- Conduct toolbox talks and facilitate effective communication across the team
- Support hazard identification, risk controls and safe work practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
- Plan and organise daily workload requirements to achieve customer and business outcomes

What You'll Bring

- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, transport or cold storage environment
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching or coordinating operational teams
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management and dispatch processes
- Current forklift licence and proven MHE operating experience
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach with the ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment
