Combining multi-entity operations, international trade logistics, and commercial asset management, our client is expanding its financial leadership to scale capital management, banking relationships, and operational analytics. Built on a culture of financial transparency, rigorous modeling, high ownership, and strategic process automation, our client provides a dynamic remote workspace where executive financial leadership directly shapes company capitalization, inventory profitability, and multi-entity growth.
The Role
Our Client is seeking a hands-on, strategic Remote Full-Time Finance Lead / CFO to serve as the owner's primary financial partner across the entire enterprise. Reporting directly to business ownership, this position transitions raw accounting data produced by in-house bookkeepers into 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts, 12–24 month financial models, landed-cost margin analytics, and consolidated multi-entity performance reports. Additionally, this role will supervise accounting staff, optimize Odoo V19 and QuickBooks workflows, integrate AI automation, and co-lead commercial banking relationships, credit line renewals, and covenant reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Flow Forecasting & Financial Modeling
- Builds and maintains a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and a comprehensive 12–24 month financial model for strategic planning.
- Models complex cash patterns across distinct operating units, accounting for wholesale working-capital cycles, import freight and duty/tariff timing, and real estate cash needs.
- Performs monthly forecast-versus-actual variance analyses and presents findings directly to ownership.
- Develops dynamic scenario models evaluating the cash and working-capital impacts of changing sales volumes, inventory procurement plans, and capital allocation options.

Banking Relationships & Credit Facility Management
- Partners with ownership to manage U.S. commercial banking and lending relationships, preparing credit packages and participating in lender meetings via video.
- Supports negotiations for lines of credit, debt renewals, interest terms, borrowing-base reporting, and financial covenants.
- Monitors debt compliance and ensures timely preparation of all banking and lender deliverables.

Financial Operations, Costing & Supervision
- Directly supervises in-house remote bookkeepers, establishing month-end close procedures, reviewing reconciliations, and enforcing accounting standards.
- Conducts landed-cost analyses, evaluates margins by product line, and analyzes inventory performance—including the cash flow impact of international shipping, tariffs, and customs duties.
- Oversees software utilization across Odoo V19 and QuickBooks, expanding automation and AI tools to streamline financial reporting and operational workflows.
- Coordinates with external CPA firms for annual tax strategy, compliance filing, and financial reporting.

Multi-Entity Consolidation & Strategic Collaboration
- Produces consolidated monthly financial packages across operating companies, real estate holdings (cash modeling and reporting focus), and investment portfolios.
- Delivers concise periodic summaries to ownership highlighting total portfolio performance, liquidity metrics, and net cash positions.
- Collaborates with department heads across sales, logistics, and operations to embed financial visibility into day-to-day business decisions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies
Required Qualifications
- Senior Financial Leadership Background: 7+ years of experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Financial Controller, or FP&A Lead within privately held, owner-led U.S. companies.
- Inventory & Import Operations Expertise: Proven experience in inventory-heavy sectors (wholesale distribution, import/export, retail, CPG), including landed-cost modeling, duty/tariff calculations, and working capital cycle management.
- U.S. Commercial Banking & Credit Facilities: Direct experience managing U.S. commercial banking relationships, negotiating credit lines, executing borrowing-base reporting, and tracking debt covenants.
- 13-Week Cash Flow & Financial Modeling: Hands-on mastery building 13-week rolling cash flow models and 12–24 month financial projections from scratch using advanced Excel or financial modeling software.
- Multi-Entity Consolidation: Demonstrated track record consolidating financial statements, managing intercompany transactions, and handling multi-entity portfolio reporting.
- Software & Accounting Tech Stack: Proficiency with U.S. GAAP standards, QuickBooks, and modern ERP software (hands-on experience with Odoo V19 or similar ERP platforms is strongly preferred).
- AI & Process Automation Adoption: Proven track record or strong proficiency integrating AI, automation, and tech-driven workflow improvements into accounting and reporting practices.
- Team Supervision: Direct experience managing and reviewing the work of remote bookkeepers and accounting staff.
- Fluent English Communication: Native-level written and spoken English skills, with the ability to communicate transparently, explain complex financial models to lenders, and address variances directly.
- Schedule Alignment: Full availability for a full-time schedule requiring a minimum of 4 hours daily overlap with U.S. Eastern Time (ET) business hours for video meetings and lender calls.
- Remote Workspace Infrastructure: Modern workstation computer, HD webcam, noise-canceling headset, and secure, high-speed internet connection in a private home office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or MBA in Finance.
- Experience modeling real estate asset cash flows or property management holding accounts.
- Experience managing system implementations or upgrades within Odoo or similar enterprise platforms.
