About this role
Meta's Net Zero team drives Net Zero strategy, programs and engagement across the company and with our partners. We seek an experienced teammate to lead supplier clean electricity acceleration to support Meta's net zero in its value chain by 2030 goal.
This role is responsible for designing and implementing the strategy that supports Meta's key suppliers in procuring clean electricity and reducing their operational emissions. The work spans the full range from scaled, programmatic support — capacity building, training, tooling, and guidance — through to in-depth 1:1 transaction support with individual suppliers, including in challenging geographies where clean energy availability is itself the barrier. A significant portion of the portfolio is APAC-facing, with supplier engagement across markets such as Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, and South Korea; knowledge of U.S. clean energy markets is also desirable.
Beyond supplier clean energy adoption, this is a role on a small, high-leverage team where breadth matters as much as depth. This role requires adapting and pivoting approaches when priorities shift. This role requires supplier clean energy adoption expertise with fluency in carbon accounting, knowledge of digital infrastructure decarbonization best practices, and methodologies for recognizing emission reductions in products and services — and with genuine interest in broadening into adjacent areas of supply chain decarbonization for infrastructure products and services over time.
Responsibilities
Analyze supplier data by sector and geography and develop the strategy to support Meta's key suppliers in meeting their clean energy goals
Work directly with key suppliers to provide 1:1 transaction support — evaluating and advising on procurement structures including VPPAs, aggregated and cohort procurement, green tariffs, and energy attribute certificates — and guide them through execution
Explore, vet, and pilot innovative clean energy financing and procurement mechanisms in challenging geographies where clean energy availability constrains supplier commitments
Build supplier capacity at scale by developing training content, toolkits, guidance, processes, and tools that help suppliers across tiers build credible decarbonization glide paths
Serve as the horizontal clean energy subject matter expert for the organization: support cross-functional and sourcing partners on supplier contract negotiations, supplier action plans, and ad-hoc clean energy questions
Represent Meta in industry coalitions, buyer collaboratives, and supplier training academies; surface actionable clean energy and energy efficiency opportunities for Meta and its suppliers
Partner with data and reductions teams to develop, pilot, and operationalize methodologies for recognizing emission reductions from supplier clean energy within Meta's GHG inventory and reduction accounting
Develop and improve data collection and analysis processes related to product carbon footprints (PCFs) and supplier clean energy, and support their transition into enterprise tooling
Build and manage relationships, form consensus, and coordinate with internal cross-functional partners including leadership; facilitate discussions and seek alignment and sponsorship for decarbonization initiatives
Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of broader decarbonization solutions for Infra products and services using technical, financial, and supply chain criteria
Propose process and tooling solutions that integrate carbon as a decision criterion in sourcing and procurement
Participate in annual and quarterly net zero planning, goal setting, roadmapping, and budgeting; communicate progress, gaps, risks, and mitigation strategies
Effectively communicate program progress internally, including developing collateral for and participating in executive communications
Manage consultants on key workstreams by providing strategic guidance and oversight
Ability to travel (10%)

8+ years of experience in fields related to clean energy procurement, clean energy program management, or corporate sustainability
Demonstrated experience in corporate or supplier renewable electricity procurement, including familiarity with procurement structures such as PPAs/VPPAs, aggregated procurement, green tariffs, and energy attribute certificates
Experience delivering scaled support — such as training, capacity building, enablement programs, toolkits, or self-serve guidance — to a broad set of suppliers or external partners, in addition to in-depth 1:1 engagement
Working knowledge of GHG accounting principles and methods, including methodologies for recognizing emission reductions from clean energy
Experience engaging suppliers or external partners directly to drive Scope 1 and 2 emissions reductions
Experience prioritizing and managing concurrent projects and coordinating across internal interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Demonstrated experience building programs, processes, or frameworks in areas where precedent and tooling do not yet exist — building programs where process, precedent, and tooling do not yet exist
Proven ability to diplomatically resolve issues through understanding conflicting inputs, achieving alignment, and proposing go-forward solutions
Basic fluency in global and sectoral sustainability initiatives and standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel (10%) Experience with clean energy markets, policy, and regulatory regimes in APAC geographies such as Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, or South Korea
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Experience structuring or supporting aggregated or cohort-based clean energy transactions involving multiple corporate buyers or suppliers
