Job posting end date: 11/05/2026
Own end-to-end commercial leadership of Australia West, driving integrated sales and service growth, customer partnerships and high-performing teams as a senior leader within Market Area Asia Pacific.
Who we are:
Metso is a global leader in sustainable technologies, end-to-end solutions and services for the aggregates, minerals processing and metals refining industries. Through our product and process expertise, we help customers improve energy and water efficiency, increase productivity and reduce environmental risks.
Our people are motivated by meaningful impact. Guided by our values; high ambition, customer in centre, getting it done together, and being open and honest, we collaborate to build a more sustainable future.
About the role:
We are seeking a commercially minded, people-focused leader to join us as Vice President, Sales & Service Australia West. Based in Perth, Western Australia, you will report directly to the President, Asia Pacific Market Area, and be a member of the Asia Pacific leadership team. You will lead the Australia West Sales & Service organisation, with a leadership team covering Site Account Management, Inside Sales, and Customer Service and Quotations, and responsibility for the people and teams who sit within these functions.
This is an end-to-end regional commercial leadership role, not simply a sales leadership position. You will own customer strategy, market coverage and integrated sales and service growth across Australia West, accountable for pipeline quality, margin, customer retention and share of wallet across service sales, solutions, contracts, capital offerings and lifecycle value creation. Working closely with Service Operations, product and solution teams and Business Lines, you will ensure customers experience one Metso. The role requires regular travel, expected to be approximately 40–60%, primarily across Western Australia, with occasional travel to other parts of Asia Pacific, international locations and Metso’s head office in Espoo, Finland.
As a senior Asia Pacific leader, you will bring enterprise thinking beyond your own region, lead confidently through a complex matrix, set the standard for visible safety leadership, earn credibility with senior customers and build accountable, inclusive, high-performing teams.
What you’ll do:
- Lead Australia West as an integrated commercial business, setting customer strategy and market coverage to deliver profitable sales and service growth.
- Own end-to-end commercial performance, including revenue, margin and order intake, across transactional sales, solutions, contracts, capital offerings and lifecycle service opportunities.
- Define target customers, installed-base opportunities and growth segments, and align coverage models and resources to capture them.
- Drive pipeline quality through disciplined funnel management, structured account planning and proactive pursuit of priority opportunities.
- Lead Site Account Management and Inside Sales to expand market coverage, improve conversion and strengthen customer intimacy.
- Oversee customer service and quotation processes to deliver timely, accurate and high-quality responses.
- Use data and commercial insights to improve forecast reliability, pricing discipline, margin, win rates, customer retention and share of wallet.
- Partner closely with Service Operations, product and solution teams, Business Lines and commercial functions so customer demand is converted into integrated solutions and safe, profitable delivery.
- Translate Market Area and global direction into clear Australia West action plans, priorities and operating rhythms.
- Strengthen governance and adoption of global processes, sales models, ERP and CRM systems.
- Model visible safety leadership, build trusted senior customer relationships and continuously improve the customer experience.
- Build leadership depth and capability across your team, creating an accountable, inclusive and high-performing culture, and contribute to Asia Pacific-wide decisions as a member of the leadership team.
What success looks like:
Success in this role will be measured by clear, tangible outcomes, including:
- Profitable growth: sustained growth in integrated sales and service order intake and revenue across Australia West.
- Pipeline quality: a healthy, well-qualified CRM pipeline aligned to target customers and growth segments.
- Conversion and win rate: improved conversion of priority opportunities and higher win rates.
- Forecast reliability: accurate, dependable forecasting that supports Market Area planning.
- Margin: improved margin through pricing, contract and negotiation discipline.
- Retention and share of wallet: stronger customer retention, installed-base penetration and share of wallet.
- Customer experience: measurable improvement in customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
- Safety and leadership: a strong safety culture, engaged and capable teams, and effective collaboration with Service Operations, product and solution teams and Business Lines.
What you’ll bring:
We welcome candidates from all backgrounds who bring a combination of commercial experience, customer focus and inclusive leadership. You may be a strong fit if you offer the following essential experience and capabilities:
- Significant experience in sales, service or engineering roles, ideally including senior leadership of regional or multi-team functions.
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Sales or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in mining, aggregates or industrial service environments, with an understanding of both aftermarket services and capital or product sales.
- Strong pipeline and funnel management discipline, including forecasting, conversion and pipeline quality.
- Commercial capability across pricing, contracts, negotiation and margin optimisation.
- Experience building trusted relationships with senior customers and executing structured account plans.
- A focus on improving customer experience, identifying new markets and creating long-term value.
- Enterprise thinking and strong matrix leadership, with the ability to influence across geographies, cultures, Business Lines and functions to deliver shared outcomes.
- Visible safety leadership and a demonstrated ability to coach, develop and inspire accountable, inclusive, high-performing teams and build leadership depth.
What’s in it for you:
- Meaningful leadership impact: shape sales and service strategy, customer partnerships and sustainable growth across Australia West within a global Market Area.
- Learning and career growth: ongoing growth conversations, internal mobility, mentoring, education assistance, ambitious projects and global opportunities.
- Wellbeing and safety: a workplace where physical and mental health are always a priority, supported by wellbeing programs and healthy living rewards.
- Competitive reward: a competitive base salary and annual incentive program linked to business and performance outcomes.
