About this role

What awaits you

- Design, develop, and deploy Java-based applications, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and scalability

- Implement API integrations with various external systems using RESTful and SOAP protocols, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange

- Developing business logic based on JEE using applications servers

- Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient utilization of resources in cloud environments

- Implement security best practices and standards to protect data and systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities

- Write clean, well-documented code and adhere to coding standards and guidelines

- Define and document data models for the applications

- Using test driven development techniques

- Using and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline

- Deploying the application to a Kubernetes cluster

- Working in an Agile team using Scrum/Kanban methodology and their derivatives

- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile/Scrum ceremonies to ensure high-quality deliverables and on-time project completion

- End-to-end responsibility for application development

- Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve skills and contribute to the team's success

- Transform business requirements into structured technical specifications

- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and QA engineers to refine requirements

What should you bring along

- University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related field

- At least 7 years of experience on a similar Java Developer role is required

- Mandatory skills: MCP + Skills + Agents, PostgreSQL or similar, Data Mapping, VSCode + Github or similar IDE

- Experience in development with Java SE 11+

- JUnit experience and knowledge

- Relational Database concepts and usage (PostgreSQL or other), NoSQL concepts and usage (MongoDB or other), Migration tools (e.g. Flyway)

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

- Nice to have: AWS/Azure, Terraform

- Good understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and best practices

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Excellent English verbal and written skills

- German communication skills will be a plus
