Role Overview

Great strategy needs sharp financial insight to turn it into results. As our Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be the trusted finance lead for one of our corporate functions, helping senior leaders make faster, better-informed decisions. You will turn plans into clear numbers, options and actions that improve performance and deliver value for money across a budget of around USD 450 million. Working with the Director of Finance Business Partnership, you will set the rhythm for performance reviews, forecasting and cost leadership, and make sure everyone works from one trusted version of the numbers. This is a high-visibility role for a commercially minded accountant who wants to shape decisions, not just report on them.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with functional leaders as their finance lead, framing issues, testing options and recommending clear decisions.

- Deliver concise executive packs and decision papers that link functional performance to Group results.

- Lead the monthly and quarterly performance cycle, including targets, variance analysis and risk and opportunity tracking.

- Build driver-based rolling forecasts that improve accuracy and give leaders earlier warning to act.

- Drive cost leadership through demand challenge, benchmarking, process simplification and automation.

- Create transparent service-cost dashboards and fair, principles-based cost recharges.

- Track the benefits of investments from business case to post-implementation review, and support portfolio trade-off decisions.

- Champion a single source of truth for data and dashboards, working with finance systems teams to automate manual work.

- Ensure strong governance and controls, aligned to delegation of authority and internal control over financial reporting (including SOX).

- Build finance capability by standardising templates, upskilling stakeholders and embedding lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.

- Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualifications.

- At least 8 years of progressive finance experience, including proven business partnering at executive level.

- A track record of delivering results in cost leadership, investment value realisation and complex change or transformation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in shared services or corporate overheads within multi-site or multi-country industrial businesses, such as mining.

- Hands-on experience with SAP CO/FI, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Oracle HFM and Workiva.

- Advanced Power BI skills and experience automating processes with Power Query, VBA or Power Automate.

- Solid IFRS knowledge, with awareness of key US GAAP differences and consolidation.

- Experience in benefits tracking and stage-gate investment governance.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into profit, balance sheet and cash outcomes.

- Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel, word and Powerpoint)

- Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and investment appraisal (NPV, IRR, scenario and sensitivity analysis).

- Excellent executive communication – turning complex analysis into simple, compelling messages.

- Confident influencing and constructive challenge with senior leaders.

- Skilled facilitation of performance forums that drive decisions and action, not just discussion.

- Sound judgement, resilience under pressure and the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.

Work Environment and Expectations

- Corporate office-based role reporting to the Director of Finance Business Partnership.

- Individual contributor role with no direct reports, partnering on a budget of around USD 450 million.

- Close work with senior vice presidents, vice presidents and heads of corporate functions, as well as external auditors, regulators and advisors.

- A fast-paced environment with peak periods around month-end, forecasting and reporting cycles.
