Your Role:
During the design and construction phases, to design the warehouses fulfilling the state of the art considering the cost and future operations.
After start up, is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, shipment execution, compliance with Merck policies and regulatory requirements. The role requires good ERP/ SAP knowledge, hands-on warehouse experience, and ability to communicate and work well with cross stream ensure warehouse operation efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineering team to design and implement warehouse layouts, loading/unloading docks, and storage solutions, including racking systems, warehouse automation equipment, and fire protection systems.
- Partner with ERP team to establish warehouse processes and system configurations, including storage locations and material flows for raw materials (chemicals), bulk materials, finished goods, packaging materials, and spare parts.
- Lead and supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
- Ensure smooth shipment flow and timely execution of inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct regular cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
- Manage warehouse resources effectively to meet operational and customer service requirements.
- Maintain and manage bonded warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with company standards, and local regulatory requirement, customs regulations and bonded factory license requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Supply Chain, Logistic, Customer Service, Production and other stakeholders to support business needs.
- Analyze warehouse performance and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Support ERP/SAP transactions, inventory movements, and system accuracy.
- Prepare operational reports and maintain warehouse documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Experience: At least 5 years experience in warehouse, logistics or supply chain operations.
- Preferred : At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Skills: strong knowledge of warehouse daily operations, including:
- Receiving and put-away processes
- Inventory management and stock control
- Picking, packing, and shipping processes
- Shipment flow management
- Good understanding of Bonded Factory/Warehouse regulations and license requirements.
- Proficient operate in ERP / SAP system
- Language Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English
