CDC Material Handler I, 2 nd Shift

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

The Material Handler ensures safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials within the warehouse and manufacturing areas. They support production by handling materials, pulling orders, delivering supplies, and staging finished products.

Safety:

·        Promote and ensure workplace safety by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

·        Safely operate tools and equipment, strictly following personal protective equipment (PPE) rules.

·        Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.

·        Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and property damage immediately to supervisors.

·        Inspect required PPE before use to ensure compliance and safety.

Quality:

·        Commit to quality by ensuring that all parts and products meet established standards.

·        Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

·        Meet quality and productivity metrics consistently throughout operational tasks.

Material Handling:

·        Follow instructions for accurate material movement, including loading and unloading deliveries.

·        Assist with lineside deliveries, ensuring accuracy in material counts and proper handling to avoid damage.

·        Sustain continuous material movement to various work areas to enhance production flow.

·        Operate cyclic replenishment systems and effectively manage materials in Just-In-Time (JIT) and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) areas.

·        Transport materials to designated workstations, maintaining efficiency in supply delivery.

·        Maintain in-process inventory and deliver supplies as needed to support operations.

·        Use SAP to order materials and manage inventory levels effectively.

·        Help maintain organization in storage areas, ensuring materials are properly labeled and stored.

·        Work independently with little supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and responsibility.

Equipment Management:

·        Operate basic material handling equipment such as tuggers, pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materials within the warehouse.

·        Lift truck certification is required.

·        Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Communication and Teamwork:

·        Communicate clearly and effectively with other departments to coordinate material needs.

·        Contribute to team efforts and foster a collaborative work environment by sharing knowledge and assisting colleagues.

·        Crosstrain for all material handler functions to enhance flexibility and team performance.

5S:

·        Maintain 5S organization and cleanliness within the work area to promote an efficient workspace.

·        Perform housekeeping tasks regularly to keep the warehouse organized and safe.

Perform all other duties as assigned

Your profile

·        High-School Diploma – Required

·        0-2 Years Warehouse Experience – Required

·        0-2 Years Forklift Experience – Required

·        0-2 Years SAP Experience - Preferred

·        Ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions.

·        Safely operate various material handling equipment.

·        Follow safety procedures and use PPE.

·        Effective communication and teamwork skills.

·        Detail-oriented with organizational skills.

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

Benefits offered include the following:

·         Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.

·         Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.

·         The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).

·         40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).

·         12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
