About this role

The location of this role is flexible across Africa, with a strong preference for one of Enko Education's countries of operation.

Ready to take ownership of treasury operations and help build something from the ground up?

At Enko Education , we're on a mission to increase access to world-class education for talented learners across Africa. As a fast-growing network of international schools operating across 11 African countries , we're continuously evolving the way we work to support our ambitions.

We're now embarking on an exciting new chapter: the creation and deployment of our Shared Service Centre (SSC) , bringing together treasury, finance, and accounts payable operations into a more streamlined, efficient structure.

To help make this happen, we're looking for a Group Treasury Analyst & Project Lead who combines strong financial expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset.

This is an opportunity to go beyond traditional treasury reporting. You'll take ownership of key financial operations, contribute to building processes from scratch, and help shape the way treasury works across a growing pan-African organization.

If you're someone who enjoys solving complex problems, taking initiative, and turning ideas into action, we'd love to hear from you.

Your Mission

Reporting directly to the Group Treasurer , you'll have a dual mission: owning day-to-day group treasury operations and playing a hands-on role in the implementation of our new Shared Service Centre.

You'll be responsible for ensuring reliable financial data, managing liquidity forecasts, maintaining strong treasury controls, and helping establish efficient, scalable processes across our schools and entities.

This role calls for someone who can see both the big picture and the details. Someone who is comfortable navigating a fast-moving environment, making informed decisions, challenging assumptions, and driving projects forward with a high degree of autonomy.

You'll be joining a lean, agile team at a pivotal moment, where you'll have the opportunity to shape structures and processes rather than simply inherit them.

What You'll Be Working On

1. Build & Implement Our Shared Service Centre

Play an active role in creating the financial infrastructure that will support Enko's next phase of growth.

- Design and deploy processes: Partner with the Group Treasurer to develop, document, and implement treasury workflows, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the new SSC.
- Drive continuous improvement: Identify gaps in local school reporting, propose practical solutions, and help transition operations toward consistent, centralized treasury standards.
- Support change management: Act as a key point of contact for local School Finance Partners, facilitating their onboarding and training on new processes and systems.

2. Drive Cash Flow Forecasting & Liquidity Management

Take ownership of the information and analysis that support our group's financial decisions.

- Own the forecasts: Lead and maintain the 12-week rolling cash flow forecast across all schools and holding entities.
- Ensure data reliability: Review financial submissions from School Finance Partners, challenge assumptions, investigate inconsistencies, and ensure high-quality, reliable financial information.
- Support financial decision-making: Prepare and co-lead weekly cash committee meetings, providing clear insights into group cash positions, actual vs. forecast variances, accounts payable ageing, and proposed payment runs.

3. Oversee Debt Management & Compliance

Help ensure our financial commitments are accurately tracked, anticipated, and managed.

- Maintain debt visibility: Own and reconcile the Group Master Debt Schedule against Xero and underlying loan agreements, tracking principal repayments, interest schedules, and maturities.
- Support lender relations: Ensure debt service obligations are accurately incorporated into liquidity forecasts and contribute to the preparation of lender reporting packs.

4. Strengthen Treasury Controls & Governance

Help build a reliable and consistent treasury control environment across our countries of operation.

- Manage banking information: Maintain a comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date central register of Enko's bank accounts, authorized signatories, and corporate banking limits across all jurisdictions.
- Ensure compliance: Review new bank account opening documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance before formal corporate submission.

What Will Make You Successful in This Role?

We're looking for a hands-on, analytical, and highly autonomous finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, bringing structure to complexity, and getting things done.

You don't need everything to be perfectly defined to move forward. You're comfortable making informed decisions, anticipating challenges, and driving your work independently while knowing when to collaborate or escalate.

Here's what we're looking for:

- Solid finance experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate treasury, financial analysis, or an analytical corporate finance role, ideally with exposure to project management or Shared Service Centre implementations.
- Strong analytical capabilities: A solid understanding of cash management, liquidity forecasting, financial reconciliations, and treasury fundamentals, with the ability to turn financial data into actionable insights.
- Advanced technical skills: Excellent command of Excel and/or Google Sheets is essential. Experience working with cloud-based accounting systems, particularly Xero, is highly expected.
- Project management skills: A structured and organized approach to designing processes, documenting workflows, managing timelines, and coordinating implementation activities.
- Professional fluency in English and French: You must be fully comfortable leading technical discussions, preparing reports, and collaborating with stakeholders in both languages.
- Ownership and autonomy: The ability to manage priorities, take initiative, solve problems, and deliver reliable results with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Confidence and stakeholder management: Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to challenge financial assumptions, defend your analysis, handle pushback, and engage confidently with senior school stakeholders.

Additional experience that will set you apart:

- Exposure to multi-country financial operations, particularly across African markets.
- Familiarity with African banking environments, local foreign exchange constraints, and cross-border treasury challenges.
- Experience supporting finance transformation, process optimization, or Shared Service Centre implementation projects.

Above all, we're looking for someone with a builder's mindset : a professional who takes pride in the accuracy of their work, sees opportunities for improvement, and has the drive to turn challenges into solutions.
