Senior Service Technician - Fire Alarm

FSS Technologies is hiring an experienced Service Technician in Arlington Heights to service, test, and repair fire alarm systems at commercial, industrial, and residential sites. Position Overview

The Service Technician services, inspects, tests, and repairs fire alarm systems and related electronic security equipment, and makes sure every system works correctly and meets fire codes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Service and install fire and security system hardware.

- Inspect and test existing systems and make needed repairs or adjustments.

- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and replace faulty components.

- Work with team members to meet regulatory and code requirements.

- Complete documentation and reports accurately and on time.

- Complete assigned training and certifications within required timelines.

- Keep accurate inventory records and maintain tools, vehicle, and equipment.

- Respond to customer requests promptly and explain how to use and maintain systems.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- 3+ years of experience in a similar role supporting fire systems.

- Solid understanding of electrical systems, components, and local codes.

- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets our insurance carrier's standards.

- Comfort using an iPhone or iPad for work orders.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands below are essential functions of this job. FSS will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.

- Lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Climb and work from ladders and lifts, including at heights.

- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and reach overhead for extended periods, including in tight or confined spaces.

- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and on active job sites.

- Wear required PPE and follow OSHA and FSS safety rules at all times.

What We Offer

- Pay: $30 to $45 per hour, based on experience. Overtime is paid as required by law.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with travel to customer sites.
