About the Position
We are seeking a mechanically inclined, dependable individual to operate production equipment at a book manufacturing company in Lowell, MA. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, understands basic math, and has the patience and attention to detail needed to produce quality books.
Responsibilities
- Operate book manufacturing equipment according to work instructions and safety procedures.
- Load materials, monitor production, and keep machines supplied.
- Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and adjustments.
- Check measurements, alignment, and finished products for accuracy and quality.
- Identify machine issues and report problems to the supervisor.
- Track production quantities and complete required paperwork.
- Keep equipment and the work area clean and organized.
- Work with the production team to meet schedules and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic hand tools.
- Basic math skills, including measurements, counting, and fractions.
- Patience, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around machinery.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Previous machine operation, manufacturing, printing, bindery, automotive, or maintenance experience is helpful.
