Machine Operator Assistant – Printing & Bindery
About the Position
Enjoy hands-on work and learning how machines work? We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to assist with printing and bookbinding production at in Lowell, MA.
You will support experienced machine operators, prepare materials, and help produce quality books. We’re looking for someone who is patient, comfortable with basic math, and attentive to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators with daily production and equipment setup.
- Load paper and other materials into production equipment as directed.
- Help with job changeovers and basic adjustments under supervision.
- Check books and printed materials for proper alignment, page order, and visible defects.
- Count, stack, organize, and move finished products.
- Follow work instructions and report equipment or quality issues.
- Keep the work area clean and follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning production equipment.
- Basic math, counting, and measurement skills.
- Patience and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to learn.
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, warehouse work, automotive repair, or using hand tools is helpful.
