Lincoln Surgical Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Charge Entry Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing patient charts, verifying documentation, and accurately posting hospital charges to ensure timely and accurate billing. Schedule
- 64 hours per pay period
- Four days per week
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Regular day off will be either Wednesday or Friday
Essential Responsibilities
- Review patient charts following discharge to verify documentation for ancillary charges, implants, and other billable items.
- Accurately enter charges and applicable coding information received from hospital departments.
- Identify unusual, incomplete, or illegible charges and follow up with appropriate personnel for clarification.
- Reconcile posted charge batches to source documentation and promptly resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain timely charge entry with the goal of eliminating backlogs.
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with hospital policies and established standards.
Qualifications
- Experience with basic accounting functions and transaction posting preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
- Basic proficiency with computers, calculators, telephones, and data entry systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
