PrideStaff is NOW HIRING an experienced Assistant Controller for one of our top manufacturing clients in Oak Ridge, TN!
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated accounting and finance professional with a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, and manufacturing accounting .
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with experience analyzing manufacturing costs, managing budgets, and supporting financial operations. Key Responsibilities
Assist the Controller with daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
Develop, monitor, and analyze departmental and company budgets.
Perform detailed cost analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and production expenses.
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
Support inventory accounting, cost allocation, and reconciliation processes.
Assist with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Collaborate with production and operations teams to evaluate manufacturing efficiency and cost performance.
Support internal controls, financial audits, and compliance with accounting standards.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Assist with special financial projects and additional accounting responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, or cost accounting.
Manufacturing accounting or cost analysis experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
Experience analyzing production costs, inventory, labor expenses, and manufacturing overhead.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and financial analysis.
Experience with ERP systems or accounting software preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
Ability to communicate financial information effectively to management and operational teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
