Bim Specialist

Job Title: BIM Specialist Job Description
As a BIM (Revit Virtual Design Construction) Modeler, you will be responsible for providing modeling efforts for both project delivery and standards. This role will generate content for the VDC team to utilize in various ways, including but not limited to construction sequence planning, proposals, shop drawings, spooling, pre-assembly, and pre-fabrication efforts, safety orientations, and task planning. You will report to and receive direction from project BIM team members and various project-level management teams.
Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and archive model files from designers, staff, and trade subcontractors.
- Develop model components from ideas to prototypes, shop/approval drawings, and jigging/assembly concepts through production-grade delivery.
- Assist in the development of sequencing and assembly steps and communicate these steps to stakeholders graphically (4D).
- Create bill of materials/cut lists and support pricing and estimating efforts (5D).
- Perform quality control review of personally produced work before issuing to other teams and assist in quality assurance review of work produced by other modelers within the team.
- Facilitate the exchange and coordination of 3D model elements with field fabricators.
- Participate in technological collaboration between project team members.
Essential Skills
- 2 years of experience in the architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry or similar experience in a relevant manufacturing industry with a focus on production modeling and detailing using 3D model objects.
- 1 year of experience in the electrical, virtual design construction industry, or similar experience in a relevant manufacturing industry with a focus on production modeling and detailing using 3D model objects.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency using Revit.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage for clash detection.
- Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills for responding to information requests and tasks.
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate extended periods of overtime or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction sequences.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Understanding of building controls systems, Instrumentation and Controls, Hazardous Production Material, Life Safety, and fire alarm systems.
- Total Station experience is a plus.
- eVolve Electrical experience is a plus.
- 3D laser scanning experience is a plus, including using point cloud data to help create a clash-free model and for as-built purposes.
- Previous electrical field construction experience.
- Great communication skills.
- Large project experience.
Work Environment
The work environment is hybrid with a 3/2 split for the first 0-60 days. This role offers great potential with bonus opportunities and upward mobility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
