SCOPE OF POSITION

ConeTec is seeking an Operations Manager to lead operational readiness for the Surrey business unit, with support responsibility for the auxiliary Kelowna shop and yard. This role ensures that people, equipment, tooling, inventory, facilities, and external services are ready when projects need them.

Operations is one of three business-unit pillars, alongside Sales and Projects. The Operations Manager works closely with both groups, as well as the Shop Manager, Project Managers, and field teams, to anticipate demand, remove constraints, and help crews mobilize safely, efficiently, and profitably. The Shop Manager continues to lead mechanics and day-to-day maintenance, while the Operations Manager provides overall coordination, prioritization, resources, and accountability.

OVERALL GOALS FOR POSITION

- Operational readiness across the Surrey shop, yard, warehouse, fleet, and asset base, with consistent support for the Kelowna location.

- Planning and prioritization of equipment, tooling, inventory, logistics, facilities, and support resources for upcoming work.

- Leadership, scheduling, hiring, and development of yard and warehouse personnel, while partnering with the Shop Manager on maintenance resourcing.

- Asset visibility and control, including inventory systems, audits, utilization tracking, lifecycle planning, rebuilds, replacements, and capital needs.

- Coordination of preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, certifications, modifications, and third-party service work with the Shop Manager.

- Procurement and vendor management for equipment, parts, materials, rentals, and services, balancing cost, quality, risk, and delivery requirements.

- Annual operating and capital budgets for yard, warehouse, fleet, maintenance support, inventory, and facilities, with clear reporting on costs and performance.

- Safe, clean, organized, and compliant workplaces, supported by practical procedures, clear accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Cross-business-unit coordination to share rigs, tooling, crews, and technical resources where it improves readiness and utilization.

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

How Success Will Be Measured

- Crews and Project Managers receive safe, complete, field-ready equipment and resources when required.

- Equipment downtime, last-minute mobilization issues, stockouts, and avoidable external costs are reduced.

- Assets, tooling, parts, and consumables are visible, controlled, and assigned to clear owners.

- Maintenance, procurement, and capital priorities are aligned with the work forecast and business needs.

- The Surrey and Kelowna operations follow consistent readiness, safety, inventory, and housekeeping standards.

- Sales, Projects, the shop, and field teams view Operations as responsive, practical, and accountable.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Five or more years of progressive experience in operations, fleet, asset, maintenance, warehouse, logistics, or heavy-equipment management.

- Experience leading people and coordinating multiple operational functions in drilling, geotechnical, construction, industrial services, transportation, or a comparable environment.

- Working knowledge of fleet and maintenance planning, inventory control, procurement, vendor management, budgeting, and capital planning.

- A record of building practical systems, improving processes, and turning operational needs into clear priorities and executable plans.

- Strong judgment, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to hold teams and partners accountable.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using inventory, fleet, maintenance, or enterprise asset-management systems.

- A diploma or degree in operations, supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field
