# About Tesco Developer Platform (TDP)
Tesco Developer Platform (TDP) is at the heart of Tesco’s technology strategy, enabling engineering teams to build, deploy and operate software at scale. TDP provides a paved path for developers by offering reusable platform capabilities, standardised tooling, and self-service infrastructure. The platform is built as a product, focusing on developer experience, reliability, and speed of delivery, while embedding security and operational excellence by design. Role Context As a Lead Technical Programme Manager within TDP, you will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, product management, and large-scale programme delivery. You will drive complex, cross-cutting initiatives that improve developer productivity, enable consistent engineering practices, and accelerate value delivery across Tesco’s technology landscape. Impact & Scope Core Programme Leadership • Lead the TDP as a coordinated programme across capability build, platform rollout, and consumer onboarding, ensuring alignment across product, engineering, and dependent teams. • Establish and run effective programme governance, managing cross-team dependencies, risks, and delivery against agreed outcomes and timelines. Product–Programme Partnership • Partner closely with Product leadership to enable delivery of the roadmap, ensuring sequencing of capabilities and dependencies is executable, but remaining aligned to product-led prioritisation and decision-making. • Translate product roadmap and capability sequencing into a coherent, cross-team delivery plan, ensuring readiness across infrastructure, security, and platform teams. Adoption & Onboarding Own the onboarding of teams and workloads that are unblocked by available platform capabilities, ensuring smooth adoption and time-to-value. • Drive programme-level visibility of onboarding progress, identifying bottlenecks and accelerating adoption across target teams. • Provide clear signal and feedback to Product on onboarding friction, unmet needs, and patterns of demand to inform future capability prioritisation. Driving Platform Adoption & Growth • Coordinate across platform, product, and engineering teams to scale adoption of TDP capabilities, ensuring consistent rollout and reuse across the organisation. • Align stakeholders across infrastructure, security, and platform domains to unlock adoption at scale. Execution & Communication • Communicate programme progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to senior technology stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making. • Maintain a clear view of delivery status, onboarding pipeline, and capability readiness across all participating teams. User Insight Enablement Support and coordinate user research and onboarding learnings with Product and Engineering teams, ensuring insights are surfaced and fed into product decisions (without owning discovery). Platform Mindset • Champion a platform-as-a-product operating model, reinforcing standardisation, simplification, and developer experience improvements across teams.
