Security Officer – York
Location: York
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off Rotation
We are currently recruiting for a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at a reception-based security site in York.
This is a varied role requiring a strong customer service approach, good communication skills and the ability to remain vigilant and professional at all times.
Shift Pattern
The position operates on a 4 on / 4 off rotational shift pattern, covering both days and nights:
- Day Shifts: 05:30 – 17:30
- Night Shifts: 17:30 – 05:30
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a professional and welcoming reception security presence.
- Monitoring CCTV systems and responding appropriately to incidents.
- Carrying out regular security patrols of the premises.
- Completing essential locking and unlocking duties.
- Maintaining the security and safety of the building.
- Monitoring access and ensuring only authorised persons enter the premises.
- Reporting incidents, hazards and suspicious activity.
- Completing accurate daily occurrence books and handover reports.
- Delivering excellent customer service to staff, visitors and contractors.

- Previous security experience is desirable.
- A valid SIA Security Licence is essential.
