At the Riverside Park Hotel & Leisure Club, we're looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Conference & Banqueting Assistant to join our team!

From beautiful weddings and special family celebrations to corporate conferences and exciting events, you'll play an important role in bringing every occasion to life. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines event setup and conference porter duties with food and beverage service. You'll be involved in everything from preparing our function rooms and welcoming guests to serving delicious food and ensuring every event runs smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

Conference & Event Setup

- Prepare and set up conference and banqueting rooms for weddings, meetings, private functions and special events.

- Arrange tables, chairs, staging and other event equipment in line with function requirements.

- Ensure all event spaces are presented to the highest standards before guests arrive.

- Assist with setting up conference equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones and presentation materials.

- Support room changeovers between events, ensuring everything is completed efficiently and on time.

- Assist with clearing, dismantling and resetting function rooms following events.

- Safely move, store and maintain furniture and event equipment.

Food & Beverage Service

- Provide friendly, professional and efficient food and beverage service during weddings, banquets, conferences and other functions.

- Assist with preparing tables, laying cutlery, polishing glassware and ensuring service areas are ready for guests.

- Serve food and beverages in line with the hotel's service standards.

- Support drinks receptions, buffet service, plated meals, tea and coffee breaks and other event requirements.

- Clear tables, replenish refreshments and maintain a clean and organised service environment.

- Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and looked after.

- Work closely with the kitchen and wider Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth and timely service.

Teamwork & Guest Experience

- Work alongside the Conference & Banqueting team to deliver successful events from start to finish.

- Be flexible in supporting both porter and food and beverage duties depending on operational needs.

- Communicate effectively with managers, colleagues and other departments.

- Take pride in the little details that make a big difference to our guests.

- Help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.

- Follow all food safety, hygiene, manual handling and health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and plenty of energy to the team!

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage service or event operations is desirable, but not essential.

- A friendly, approachable personality and a genuine passion for delivering great customer service.

- Strong teamwork and communication skills.

- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to switch between different tasks throughout a shift.

- Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

- The ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.

- A hands-on attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.

- The ability to safely carry out the physical aspects of the role, including setting up rooms, moving furniture and standing for extended periods, with reasonable accommodations where required.

- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends and bank holidays, depending on event requirements.
