About this role

Ready to shape a seamless end-to-end Credit and Lending journey?

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Opportunity

Credit & Capital Management (C&CM) within CIB has introduced a modern end-to-end operating model including the first line Business Credit Office (BCO).

This role supports Relationship Managers and Coverage teams by bringing credit management into a single control point across structuring, credit analysis, rating recommendations and client credit monitoring.

It’s a client-facing role focused on delivering a reliable and predictable underwriting and lending process that protects the bank while responding to clients’ borrowing needs. Success means timely, high-quality credit application and renewal delivery aligned to agreed OKRs, SLAs and KPIs.

You’ll work closely with Coverage and Transaction Support teams to deliver consistent and seamless customer experience. You’ll also help embed strong controls and thoughtful risk escalation across the end-to-end Credit and Lending process.

What you'll be doing

- Deliver BCO tasks in line with agreed OKRs, SLAs and KPIs
- Own the end-to-end Credit and Lending servicing journey from RM handoff through completion
- Prepare credit analysis, financial assessment and rating recommendations on behalf of Relationship Managers
- Coordinate client review and renewal activity including customer outreach and research
- Negotiate credit terms and documentation with WCMR and clients, acting as a single handoff point for C&L tasks
- Participate in deal discussions and meetings with clients and credit risk as required
- Embed first line risk management and control standards across the credit lifecycle to protect the bank
- Maintain internal control standards including timely implementation of internal and external audit recommendations and addressing issues raised by external regulators

What we're looking for

- Bring proven experience in finance, accounting or a similar corporate lending role; experience gained in a regional bank or consulting practice would be an advantage.

- Proven corporate lending experience with strong analytical capability and sound credit knowledge.
- Strong risk assessment and risk management capability to support credit quality and returns on risk
- Demonstratable understanding of financing instruments and banking products within Wholesale Banking.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to navigate complex situations and align senior leaders
- Clear understanding of Group credit risk principles, policies and statutory compliances.
- Communicate clearly and influence effectively across a wide range of stakeholders
- Partner constructively with risk colleagues to balance commercial outcomes and risk management
- Improve productivity and client experience through consistent process discipline and adoption of technology and customer experience initiatives

Strengthening First Line Credit Management

This is a chance to help embed a consistent first line credit management model that simplifies how Credit and Lending work gets done. The role sits at the point where client needs, credit judgement and control standards come together so the impact is visible in every deal and renewal. If you want to work closely with Relationship Managers, Coverage teams and risk partners while improving the end-to-end servicing journey this role offers real scope. Apply to help deliver a seamless experience for customers and strong outcomes for the bank.
