Role Summary

We are looking for a strategic, hands-on People & Culture expert to shape and deliver an integrated agenda across Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Health & Wellbeing, and Employee Experience at Volvo Group India. This role will help create an inclusive, healthy and engaging workplace where employees feel respected, supported and able to contribute their best.

The portfolio is structured across three interconnected focus areas: DEI, Health & Wellbeing, and Employee Experience. You will translate organisational priorities and employee insights into relevant programmes, policies and everyday practices; influence leaders and cross-functional partners; and evaluate impact through evidence and feedback. This is a senior individual-contributor role with end-to-end ownership of initiatives.

What will you do?

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

- Develop, implement and drive the DEI roadmap aligned with Volvo Group’s global direction, local workforce needs and organisational priorities.

- Strengthen inclusion, belonging, respect, psychological safety and equitable opportunity across the employee lifecycle, partnering with internal functions like Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, P&C Business Partners and business leaders.

- Design and deliver initiatives that address relevant inclusion priorities, including persons with diverse abilities, LGBTQ+ inclusion, diverse life stages and other employee needs and priorities.

- Own employee resource groups and employee-led communities, allyship, awareness campaigns and constructive dialogue across the organisation.

- Review workplace practices, policies, facilities and employee processes to identify potential barriers and recommend practical improvements and sustain leading practices informed by internal reviews and external benchmarking.

- Build leader and manager capability in inclusive leadership, respectful workplaces, bias awareness and inclusive decision-making in a holistic manner.

- Drive inclusive workplace practices that evolve with changing workforce demographics, business priorities and future ways of working, fostering an accessible, equitable and adaptable employee ecosystem.

- Track agreed DEI indicators, review employee insights and representation data where appropriate, and recommend actions to address gaps.

Health & Wellbeing

- Design and deliver a comprehensive health and wellbeing roadmap aligned with Volvo Group’s global and local priorities, supporting physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.

- Lead health promotion activities, workshops, webinars and campaigns covering mental health, nutrition, fitness, preventive health, stress management, resilience and work-life integration.

- Partner with healthcare providers, occupational health professionals (both in factories and corporate offices), wellbeing experts and other external partners to enhance programme quality, accessibility and relevance.

- Promote mental health awareness and access to appropriate support, including Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) and other available resources; handle sensitive employee concerns with discretion and refer to qualified professionals as appropriate.

- Develop inclusive wellbeing interventions that recognise differing employee needs, life stages and work contexts, including employees in factory and office environments.

- Work with managers and relevant functions to encourage healthy work practices, supportive conversations, early identification of concerns and sustainable performance.

- Coordinate with Health & Safety, occupational health, Employee Relations and other designated teams and stakeholders on relevant precautions, workplace health and emergency-response arrangements; ensure responsibilities remain clear and aligned with applicable requirements and Volvo Group policies.

- Monitor participation, accessibility, employee feedback and relevant wellbeing indicators; analyse trends and prepare progress updates and recommendations for leadership, including value and impact where measurable.

- Partner with workplace services and cafeteria partners to promote healthier food choices and provide recommendations that support employees' nutritional wellbeing.

- Evaluate and recommend innovative wellbeing initiatives, including fitness programmes, preventive healthcare offerings and employee benefit enhancements, to strengthen employee wellbeing and engagement.

Employee Experience

- Work with relevant stakeholders to execute actions emerging out of the employee listening / feedback and engagement surveys.

- Identify opportunities to improve key employee moments across employee lifecycle.

- Partner with the P&C community to strengthen employee voice, manager communication, trust and consistency of employee-facing practices.

- Track agreed experience measures and evaluate interventions for continuous improvement.
