About this role
JOB OVERVIEW:
Join Arms Systems Media IP team as a Senior Verification Engineer, developing and improving hardware verification environments for future-generation media IP.
The team develops image signal processors, display processors and video codecs for Arm Compute Subsystems used across automotive, Internet of Things and client markets. Its intellectual property includes hardware designs, reference drivers, tools and libraries that customers use to build their products.
You will take ownership of verification for unit-level or multi-unit designs and help improve the performance, quality and efficiency of testbenches and verification methods.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Take verification ownership of unit-level or multi-unit design hierarchies.
● Specify and develop verification IP and complete testbench environments for new hardware IP, and improve existing testbenches.
● Assess proposed design changes for their effect on verification complexity.
● Analyse simulation data using machine learning and data science techniques to support efficient bug discovery and debugging.
● Identify and implement process and methodology improvements across Media IP verification.
● Collaborate with other Arm engineering teams to deliver IP that works effectively within complete systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
● Experience in constrained-random verification, including ownership of complex verification environments and testbench development.
● Knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM, with experience developing reusable, scalable code.
● Ability to develop scripts that support new and existing verification flows.
● Software engineering skills covering object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, alongside familiarity with testbench tools, processes and the verification lifecycle.
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
● Experience with multiprocessing microarchitecture and bus protocols such as AMBA APB, AHB or AXI.
● Experience developing formal verification testbenches.
● Experience in video codec, image signal processor or display projects, including image processing algorithms such as local tone mapping, noise reduction, motion estimation or transform coding.
● Experience developing functional safety products for automotive applications using standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
● Experience with continuous integration flows.
● Experience or interest in applying agentic or generative AI to hardware verification, including test generation, debug, coverage analysis or workflow optimisation.
● Familiarity with AI-assisted verification methods, such as autonomous agents, large language model-assisted testbench development or regression analysis.
● Experience integrating AI or machine learning tools into verification environments.
IN RETURN:
You will use your engineering skills to support technologies used in devices across a range of markets. You will have opportunities to share ideas, influence verification strategies and develop your technical leadership skills.
You can also explore AI-assisted verification, experiment with new approaches and contribute to the adoption of verification technologies across Media IP teams.
