About this role
Procore Technologies is the leading technology partner for every stage of construction. We empower construction teams to drive efficiency and mitigate risk through actionable AI & data-driven insights. For over 20 years, we have been transforming the industry with purpose-built solutions for construction professionals and we’re looking for talented people to help us build together.
We are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer, DroneDeploy to own strategic enterprise accounts end-to-end and scale reality capture adoption across physical asset portfolios. As the Senior Solutions Engineer, DroneDeploy on our Customer Success team, you will work closely with sales partners, customer success teams, and enterprise asset owners to translate complex capital projects, facilities, and field workflows into high-impact DroneDeploy reality capture solutions. Your strengths in owner-side domain workflows, pre-sales solution architecture, and reality capture strategy will drive your success.
You will report to the Manager, Solutions Engineering and will be based in our San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX offices, or any designated Procore / DroneDeploy office hub. This role follows a hybrid schedule in accordance with local office policy, with up to 50% business travel for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the technical sales motion and proof-of-concept evaluations for strategic Owners & Operators accounts from initial discovery through contract close. You’ll align DroneDeploy's unified reality capture platform with measurable customer outcomes to accelerate deal cycles and drive enterprise expansion.
- Architect tailored reality capture solutions across capital projects and operating facilities by mapping complex customer workflows to actionable technical designs. You’ll deliver compelling demonstrations of aerial, ground, and inspection AI tools to executive and site stakeholders to prove operational value.
- Serve as the lead technical authority and objection handler in competitive enterprise evaluations to establish DroneDeploy as the market standard. You’ll author portfolio-wide capture guidelines and evaluation frameworks that enterprise owners can mandate across their contractor ecosystems.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Experience to map and execute technical expansion pathways from active construction into long-term operations, facilities management, and maintenance. You’ll identify and mitigate technical risks early—including integrations, data accuracy, and enterprise security—to guarantee seamless deployments across multi-site portfolios.
- Build and maintain reusable technical assets, reference architectures, implementation checklists, and ROI narratives to help account teams win and expand accounts independently. You’ll collaborate with Marketing and Enablement on webinars, DeployDays, and research papers that elevate DroneDeploy’s brand across the owner-operator market.
- Feed structured, data-backed field observations into Product and Engineering discussions to directly influence future reality capture roadmaps. You’ll also mentor junior solutions engineers and contribute to onboarding playbooks that raise the standard of our pre-sales organization.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise solutions engineering, pre-sales consulting, or owner-side construction management (such as an Owner's Representative, Construction Manager, or Facilities Manager) to credibly guide enterprise organizations through operational change.
- Proven background in owner-side capital projects, facilities management, or construction workflows—with particular experience in data centers, energy/utilities, industrial manufacturing, or transportation—to understand client pain points and structure relevant technical solutions.
- Solid expertise in enterprise SaaS architecture, cloud security principles, API integrations, and change-management patterns to ensure seamless software adoption and data governance across distributed organizations.
- Demonstrated success leading complex proof-of-concept evaluations, navigating competitive technical bake-offs, and presenting commercial and technical proposals to executive leaders to secure enterprise buy-in.
- Valid FAA Part 107 remote pilot certification (or regional equivalent), or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire, to safely operate capture hardware and conduct hands-on field validations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related technical discipline, or equivalent education level / experience, to apply structured problem-solving to technical workflows.
- Experience authoring technical assets (such as whitepapers, case studies, or reference architectures) and mentoring team members to scale technical knowledge across sales, customer experience, and partner channels.
Strong-fit Background Might Include
- Owner's Representative, Capital Program Manager, or Construction Director leading large-scale capital projects or program controls.
- Facilities Director or Asset Operations Manager responsible for mission-critical infrastructure, utilities, or data center portfolios.
- Solutions Engineer or Technical Consultant with specialized expertise in reality capture, photogrammetry, drone operations, or 360-degree jobsite documentation.
- Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Manager or Reality Capture Specialist with hands-on experience deploying site capture hardware, laser scanning, and BIM coordination workflows.
