About this role

Description

Are you passionate about people, and curious about what makes a great workplace actually work? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Amazon as an HR Consultant Apprentice - a role where the decisions you support shape the day-to-day experience of thousands of employees.

HR at Amazon isn't about admin and policy for their own sake. Our teams sit alongside business leaders, using data, insight, and well-designed mechanisms to help managers lead well, grow their people, and make fair, consistent decisions at real scale.

As an apprentice, you'll learn this craft by doing it. You'll start by supporting the fundamentals and, over time, take on real responsibility - getting closer to the business, forming your own point of view, and learning how to influence outcomes rather than simply respond to requests.

A day in the life can involve:

- Partnering with managers and stakeholders to offer expert, practical HR guidance

- Contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives

- Supporting the delivery of HR strategy for the lines of business you work with

- Using people data to spot trends and shape fair, consistent decisions

- Helping standardise and improve best practice across teams

This role suits someone who's genuinely curious about people and comfortable with a bit of grey - not every answer is in a handbook. You'll build credibility with colleagues at every level, ask good questions, and bring empathy and sound judgement to situations that are rarely black and white. We move fast, fail fast, and fix faster, so you'll be encouraged to form a view and act on it early.

Here at Amazon, it's in our nature to learn and be curious. Within this apprenticeship you'll put newfound knowledge into practice every day, supported by first-class coaching, tailored development, and rewarding work that will empower you to reach new heights and build the future you envision.

You'll gain a vast range of experiences and skills while working towards the HR Consultant Partner Level 5 apprenticeship standard and the CIPD Level 5 certification in People Management. As a working student, your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off-the-job time, developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to work towards successful graduation. You'll be set goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies.

You'll build your skills over a 24-month period, starting in September. Your apprenticeship will combine classroom/virtual-based training to cover knowledge, on-the-job training at your Amazon base location, online learning, and mentoring from our experienced team members.

We value different perspectives and experiences, and we're dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Our employee-led affinity groups – including communities for women in tech, LGBTQ+ employees, and underrepresented minorities – provide community, mentorship, and a platform for your voice to be heard. We're committed to building a workforce that reflects the customers and communities we serve.

We're also continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer, so you'll have the resources and support to develop into a well-rounded professional.

Your career isn't a straight path - it's a journey you build as you go. A universe of opportunity awaits, and your next adventure starts here.
