About this role
About this opportunity:
Ericsson is seeking an experienced AI Velocity Program Director to help shape how Ericsson Americas works, delivers and competes in an AI-enabled future. Our AI Velocity vision is clear: combine trusted data, shared platforms and human expertise to simplify operations, accelerate innovation and create intelligent offerings. We are seeking an experienced AI Velocity Program Director to turn that ambition into coordinated execution and measurable business value across sales, delivery and common functions.
Based in Plano, Texas, this senior individual contributor reports to the Head of Commercial Management & AI Velocity, a member of the Americas Leadership Team. You will lead the monthly AI Velocity governance meeting with that team, bringing insight, recommendations and accountability to decisions that shape our transformation.
This is a highly visible opportunity for an established transformation leader who combines strategic judgment with disciplined execution. Working through project leaders and dedicated project resources, you will ensure initiatives deliver on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards, with clear evidence of the value they create. Your leadership will come through expertise, trusted relationships and influence across organizational boundaries.
What You Will Do:
- Turn ambition into execution . Translate AI Velocity priorities into an integrated program roadmap with clear outcomes, milestones, dependencies and accountable owners across sales, delivery and common functions.
- Drive delivery performance . Challenge and support project leaders to meet commitments on schedule, budget, quality and business value. Anticipate delivery risks, resolve dependencies and drive corrective action when performance falls short.
- Lead executive governance . Lead the monthly and quarterly AI Velocity governance meetings with the Americas Leadership Team and global stakeholders, presenting concise assessments of progress, risks, investment needs and decisions required to accelerate results.
- Provide financial oversight . Track program and project budgets, forecasts and variances. Make informed recommendations on investment priorities, resource needs and corrective actions to the Americas Leadership Team.
- Make business value measurable . Partner with Finance and business owners to establish baselines, success measures and benefits tracking, validating outcomes such as productivity, cost efficiency, delivery quality, and customer impact for overall Return on Investment.
- Shape a focused portfolio . Work with business and technology leaders to assess new opportunities and recommend which initiatives to advance, scale, reshape or stop based on value, feasibility and strategic fit.
- Establish effective program governance . Define delivery standards, decision rights, reporting and escalation mechanisms. Incorporate responsible AI, security and compliance requirements in partnership with the relevant owners.
- Connect teams and accelerate progress . Align project leaders, business owners, platform and data teams, and global stakeholders around shared priorities. Surface difficult trade-offs early and build agreement on the actions needed.
- Enable lasting results . Partner with business leaders and relevant enablement teams to support adoption, operational readiness and clear ownership after implementation. Turn lessons from delivery into repeatable practices that strengthen the program.
The Skills You Bring
- A demonstrated track record leading complex transformation programs across multiple functions, with measurable results against delivery, financial and business objectives.
- Experience taking AI initiatives from business case through implementation and value realization, with a practical understanding of what enables successful adoption at scale.
- Strong program management expertise, including integrated planning, budget tracking, dependency management, quality assurance, risk mitigation and executive governance.
- Critical thinking and gap resolution
- Commercial and financial judgment to evaluate investment proposals, challenge assumptions and connect AI initiatives to business performance.
- Executive presence and concise communication, with the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations and lead discussions that result in decisions and action.
- Proven ability to mobilize teams and influence senior stakeholders without direct reporting authority, including navigating competing priorities and holding owners accountable for commitments.
- Practical AI fluency to assess opportunities, limitations and delivery risks, and work credibly with business, technology, platform and data specialists.
- The curiosity to challenge established ways of working, the judgment to navigate ambiguity and the persistence to turn ambitious goals into sustained results.
