Annual Salary: $37,799-$40,091
Shift Differential: $2.50 per hour for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
Available Shifts: Mornings, Evenings, and Overnights

Are you looking for a rewarding full-time career in direct care? Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is hiring Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our residential and community-based support teams.
Help adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), serious mental illness (SMI), and substance use disorders (SUD) build independence, maintain dignity, and thrive in their communities. Minimum Qualifications
- One year of direct care experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or mental illness, including serious mental illness (SMI), or experience working in an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF).
Your Responsibilities May Include:
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and daily routines while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Provide medication-related assistance according to service plans and offer total-care support when needed, including the use of a Hoyer lift for safe transfers.
- Encourage independence, personal choice, life skills development, and participation in recreational activities and community outings.
- Monitor individuals' well-being, communicate concerns, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with team members to provide quality, person-centered care.
