Position Summary

The Nail Technician provides manicures, pedicures, and other nail care services at the resort spa. The technician consults with each guest about their preferences, performs the agreed service with care and precision, and prepares a clean, fully stocked station for every appointment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Welcome each guest, introduce yourself, and confirm the service booked. Discuss the guest’s preferred nail length, shape, color, and finish. Explain the time and price of any requested enhancements before proceeding.
- Ask about product sensitivities and allergies. Check the nails and surrounding skin for visible cuts, irritation, or other concerns that may require modifying or postponing the service. Refer concerns that need medical evaluation to a qualified health care professional.
- Perform manicures and pedicures, including nail trimming, filing, shaping, cuticle care, and polish application. Provide gel application, removal, and other specialty services when offered by the spa and within the scope of the technician’s license and training.
- Check the guest’s comfort throughout the appointment, particularly when using a foot bath or removing a product. Invite the guest to review the shape and finish, make requested adjustments where appropriate, and explain aftercare.
- Follow hand hygiene procedures, clean and disinfect reusable implements and work surfaces, and discard single-use items after each guest. Clean and disinfect pedicure basins according to the equipment instructions and spa procedures, and complete the required cleaning logs.
- Label, store, and handle nail products according to manufacturer instructions. Check equipment before use, replenish supplies, and report damaged tools or equipment to spa leadership.
- Keep appointments on schedule while allowing time to prepare the station between guests. Communicate delays or service changes to spa reception and record relevant guest preferences discreetly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Knowledge of nail anatomy, manicure and pedicure techniques, product application and removal, and infection prevention practices.
- Precision and attention to detail when shaping nails, working near the skin, and applying polish evenly.
- Ability to listen to guest preferences, explain service options clearly, and respond to concerns with tact and discretion.
- Ability to organize tools and supplies, manage appointment time, and coordinate with spa reception and fellow service providers.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience
