About this role

Description

Amazon is looking for an experienced organization effectiveness professional to work on high-profile needs across the AWS business. As a Principal, Organization Effectiveness, you will advise senior business and HR leaders on operating model, structural, operational, and role optimizations to improve customer outcomes. You will lead diagnostic and design engagements from start to finish, from scoping the problem and analyzing the evidence to recommending and delivering the structural changes that fix it. You will also help set organization design best practice across AWS and help build new methods for breaking down work, improving how work moves across teams, and understanding how AI changes structure and roles.

Key job responsibilities
- Advise senior business and HR leaders on operating models, organization structure, decision rights and governance, capability mapping, and organization health (spans and layers).
- Lead diagnostic and design engagements: scope the problem with leaders, gather and analyze the evidence, and recommend structural changes.
- Design and deliver interventions that fix misaligned structures, roles, and decision rights, and track whether they work.
- Measure how work moves across teams and functions, find where handoffs and shared decisions break down, and recommend fixes for the whole system.
- Shape AWS thinking on the effect of AI on structure, roles, job levels, and decision making, including designing and running experiments and scaling best practices to stakeholders
- Build and enhance OE methods and tools, including data- and AI-assisted diagnostics
- Partner with partner teams such as Workforce Planning, Talent Management, and Leadership Development, to deliver best-in-class support for HR and Business leaders
