Position Summary

The Automotive Flat Rate Detail Technician is responsible for cleaning, reconditioning, and detailing customer and dealership vehicles to established quality standards. This position is compensated on a flat-rate pay system, with earnings based on completed detailing services. The technician must work efficiently while maintaining high-quality results and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform complete interior and exterior vehicle detailing.

- Wash, dry, wax, buff, and polish vehicle surfaces.

- Shampoo carpets, clean upholstery, and condition interior components.

- Remove stains, odors, and minor cosmetic imperfections.

- Clean windows, mirrors, wheels, tires, and door jambs.

- Apply paint sealants, dressings, and other protective treatments as required.

- Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and quality before delivery.

- Maintain detailing equipment, tools, and chemicals in safe operating condition.

- Follow dealership safety policies and manufacturer guidelines.

- Move and park vehicles as needed.

- Communicate repair or appearance concerns to supervisors.

- Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

- Previous automotive detailing experience preferred.

- Knowledge of detailing chemicals, tools, and equipment.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong attention to detail and quality.

- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles preferred.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.

- Ability to safely operate detailing equipment, vacuums, buffers, and pressure washers.

- Comfortable working in both climate-controlled and outdoor settings as weather conditions require.
