About this role
Job description:
ABA Therapy Partners | Southern California | School & In-Home Services
About the Role
ABA Therapy Partners (ATP) is growing, and we are building a dedicated team to keep care consistent for the students and families we serve. The FLO Shifts Behavior Technician is an official, organized part-time position for Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who want full control over their schedule.
FLO Shifts team members cover open sessions across our school and in-home programs. You decide how much you work: take on as many shifts as you want, or as few as fit your life. It is a great fit for students, working parents, clinicians building their hours, or anyone who wants meaningful ABA work on their own terms.
1. How FLO Shifts Works
FLO is ATP's shift coverage system. When a session needs coverage, it is posted for the FLO Shifts team, and you choose the ones that work for you.
- Claim open shifts through FLO: Open shifts are posted to the FLO Shifts channels and on the Staff Hub. Claim the shifts that fit your schedule.
- Choose your own volume: Work as little as 4 hours or up to a maximum of 40 hours per week, based on the shifts available.
- Get confirmations: Our schedulers review and approve each claim and send you a confirmation with the site details before your shift.
- Work across sites: Shifts include school sites (Glendale, Santa Barbara, High Desert/SELPA, and Santa Clarita/Hart) and in-home sessions, so you gain experience across a range of settings.
- Flexible week to week: Shift availability changes from week to week with client needs and staffing, so weekly hours are not guaranteed. You are responsible for checking FLO and claiming shifts according to ATP scheduling procedures.
2. What You'll Do
- Provide one-to-one ABA services to clients at school sites and in homes, following each client's behavior intervention and skill-acquisition plans.
- Work under the supervision and direction of the client's supervising BCBA or clinical team.
- Collect accurate session data and complete session notes on time.
- Step into existing programs smoothly, keeping treatment consistent for clients when their regular technician is out.
- Communicate professionally with school staff, families, and the ATP clinical and scheduling teams.
- Follow ATP policies, confidentiality requirements, and site-specific procedures.
3. What We're Looking For
- [Required credential, e.g., BT training completed or active RBT certification]
- Clear background check and any required clearances [list specific clearances]
- [Other requirements, e.g., reliable transportation, valid driver's license, CPR certification]
- Reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills
- Comfort working with different clients, teams, and settings
- Experience in ABA, education, or working with children is a plus
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Approximately 90–95% of the time: Ability to engage in active, physical work with clients, including running, chasing, playing, lifting, kneeling, standing, walking, and climbing. May be required to implement approved physical safety interventions or restraints when necessary, provided the employee has received the appropriate training and authorization.
- Approximately 10% of the time: Ability to drive to and from client homes, schools, and other service locations as required by assigned cases.
- Approximately 10–15% of the time: For school-based assignments, ability to work outdoors with assigned clients in varying weather conditions and temperatures, as required by the client's treatment plan and school activities.
The physical and environmental demands described above reflect the essential functions of the position. These functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation, consistent with applicable federal and state laws.

- Separation of Employment: Unused accrued sick leave is not paid out upon termination of employment, as permitted under California law. However, previously accrued, unused sick leave may be reinstated if an employee is rehired within 12 months, as required by applicable law.
7. Staying Active on the FLO Shifts Team
To stay active in the FLO Shifts position, team members work at least one shift per calendar month.
- 30 Days Without Working: If you have not worked any hours within a 30-day period, HR will reach out to let you know your status is inactive and remind you to claim and complete at least one shift within the following 30 days.
- 60 Days Without Working: Team members who have not worked any hours within a 60-day period may be subject to separation from employment following HR review and notification.
If you expect to be unavailable for a stretch of time, just let HR know so we can plan around it.
