Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated Department Manager to lead and grow our aviation civil engineering and project management teams across the greater Minneapolis area. Based in our Bloomington, MN office, this role will be responsible for delivering civil and electrical aviation engineering services throughout the region and will report directly to the Aviation Upper Midwest Business Unit Leader.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing financial performance of the department
- Leading civil and electrical aviation engineering projects
- Supervising, managing, and mentoring department staff
- Leading proactive client interactions, marketing and communications with aviation clients
- Contract and risk management
- Oversight of client service
- Project management
- Participating in business development strategy and opportunities
- Assisting Workplace Solutions Managers with office facility tasks
- Other tasks as assigned by the BUL
A valid driver’s license and approximately 15-25% travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have the following:
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
- At least 5 years of relevant airport site design and civil engineering experience
- PE license in any state or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:
- At least 10 years of relevant airport site design and civil engineering experience is highly preferred
- Experience negotiating and administering contracts
- Experience leading the development of plans, specs, reports, cost estimates, and submittal packages for civil and electrical engineering projects
- Experience with client management and marketing
- Experience working with FAA and MnDOT staff on airport project administration
- Experience mentoring project staff
