General Operative, Dublin
Location: Dublin
Contract: Part Time, 2 year Fixed Term
The purpose of this role is to provide and maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for staff and tenants across the service, including communal areas, offices, and onsite housing. This includes preparing and cleaning houses for move-in in partnership with service support staff.
What you will do:
- Work in line with the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland.
- Follow all Focus Ireland policies and procedures, including the Health and Safety Policy.
- Work to the daily routine set by line management or appointed systems, including a flexible five-day rota covering morning and afternoon shifts.
- Complete monthly stock checks, maintain stock records, and request cleaning materials from the appointed person in a timely manner, in consultation with the line manager.
- Maintain cyclical cleaning records and record information required for the NQSF cleaning programme.
- Work collaboratively with other Focus Ireland facilities staff and cooperate with contractors as agreed with the line manager.
- Attend regular supervision and training as agreed with the line manager.
- Clean offices, grounds, and housing across various sites, and prepare houses as required.
- Report any hazards or risks to senior staff immediately.
- Report maintenance issues to the assigned staff member.
- Work as part of a team and cooperate with colleagues.
- Attend team, divisional, and organisational meetings as required.
- Be flexible, within reason and with prior notice, regarding work location and hours.
- Comply with Focus Ireland’s Working Alone and Confidentiality policies.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned by the manager.
What you will need:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, stay self-motivated, and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a dedicated cleaning role.
- Understanding of the client group supported by Focus Ireland.
- Reasonable IT skills.
- Full driving license. (Desirable)
- Manual handling certificate. (Desirable)
- Chemical handling certificate. (Desirable)
