About this role

The Maintenance Technician supports the overall maintenance and physical condition of Peachtree Apartments, a 296-unit single-room occupancy (SRO) property. This role performs routine maintenance, responds to service requests, and ensures the property remains safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical skills, reliability, and a resident-focused service approach.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair.

- Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests and work orders.

- Inspect buildings, units, and grounds regularly to identify and resolve maintenance issues.

- Maintain common areas and exterior grounds to company standards.

- Prepare apartments for move-in by completing turns, repairs, and quality checks.

- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs as directed by management.

- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory logs.

- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies.

- Participate in on-call and emergency maintenance coverage as scheduled.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in apartment or property maintenance.

- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.

- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.

- Professional communication and strong customer service skills.

- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

- Successful completion of background and drug screenings.
