Title: Asset Management Assistant
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role:
Murkez Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented
Asset Management Assistant to support lease administration, insurance, and
facilities coordination across a multi-brand restaurant portfolio spanning
multiple QSR brands. This role is critical in tracking deadlines across a large
number of files and accounts, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring
timely, professional communication with landlords, vendors, and internal
stakeholders.
Key
Responsibilities:
Lease
& Contract Administration
• Track and manage deadlines across lease options, insurance renewals,
inspections, and other recurring dates.
• Maintain organized filing systems, physical and/or digital, for leases,
franchise agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Read leases and contracts to accurately pull out key terms such as rent,
renewal options, responsibilities, and insurance requirements.
Spreadsheet
& Data Management
• Build and maintain tracking spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, including
formulas, sorting/filtering, and multi-tab workbooks.
• Pull together reports from spreadsheet data, such as rent comparisons and
lease expiration lists.
Communication
& Coordination
• Draft clear, well-formatted letters and emails, including option letters,
renewal notices, and requests to landlords.
• Communicate directly with landlords, property managers, vendors, and lenders
by phone and email.
• Liaise clearly and professionally with internal teams, including Legal,
Development, Operations, and Accounting.
• Coordinate with landlords and vendors on facilities or maintenance issues,
such as roof, plumbing, grease traps, fire safety, and inspections.
Insurance
& Compliance
• Handle insurance administration basics, including tracking and requesting
certificates of insurance.
• Support property tax teams with documentation and reporting as needed.
Process
& Prioritization
• Triage competing, time-sensitive requests from multiple stakeholders.
• Work independently once trained, using good judgment about when to escalate
or ask questions.
• Manage recurring, multi-brand responsibilities without losing track of
details.
• Maintain discretion with confidential financial, legal, and lease
information.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a
related field preferred.
• Prior experience in commercial real estate, property management, or lease
administration is strongly preferred.
• Strong command of English (both written and verbal).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting/filtering, and
multi-tab workbooks.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
skills, with the ability to manage a large volume of files or accounts at once.
• Familiarity with common lease terminology (CAM, SNDA, estoppel, percentage
rent, TI allowance, lease abstract) is a plus.
• Experience in the restaurant, franchise, or multi-unit retail industry
is a plus.
• Experience coordinating with landlords or vendors on facilities and
maintenance issues is a plus.
