Position Overview
The State of Minnesota is seeking a senior-level QA Automation Engineer/Developer to provide technical leadership for enterprise test automation initiatives supporting the Minnesota Eligibility Technology System (METS) and SMRT DevOps teams.
This role will lead automation architecture, framework modernization, CI/CD integration, automated testing strategy, and automation best practices for mission-critical healthcare eligibility systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for improving, scaling, and maintaining enterprise automation frameworks while mentoring team members and supporting ongoing modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, modernize, and maintain enterprise automation frameworks.
• Establish automation architecture standards, coding standards, and automation best practices.
• Lead framework modernization efforts to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain: 
• UI Automation Suites
• API Automation Suites
• Regression Test Suites
• System Integration Test Automation
• Database Validation Automation
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, DevOps engineers, and QA teams.
• Develop reusable automation components and testing utilities.
• Perform SQL validation and database testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical design sessions.
• Conduct automation code reviews and mentor QA automation engineers.
• Evaluate and recommend new automation technologies and tools.
• Support continuous testing and software quality initiatives.

Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with: 
• Java
• Selenium
• Test Automation Framework Development
• 5+ years designing reusable automation frameworks using object-oriented design principles.
• 3+ years integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Jenkins or similar automation orchestration tools.
• 5+ years of SQL development and database validation experience.
• Experience automating enterprise-scale applications.
