This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.
Looking for a caring, patient, and dependable person who wants to make a difference. We are seeking a respite provider to support an amazing teenager with their daily routines, provide companionship, and help create a safe, positive home environment.
Pay : $17.66 per hour Opportunity to earn a higher wage based on qualifications, education, and relevant experience.
What you'll do: The primary focus of this position is providing in-home support, including: • Assisting with bathroom routines and personal care. • Dressing and getting ready • Providing everyday guidance and support. • Offering encouragement and positive redirection. • Helping with de-escalation when the teenager becomes upset. • Building a trusting, respectful relationship. • Supporting independence and creating a positive environment. • Provide 1 on 1 care. All eye's must be on the teenager at all times. The teenager may become upset at times and can respond by hitting or kicking, so someone who is calm, patient, confident, and comfortable working through challenging moments is especially important. Schedule: Before school: 1-2 mornings per week 6:45 AM-8:30 AM After school: Monday - Friday 4:30 PM-8:30 PM Weekends: Saturday - Sunday 8:30 AM-8:30 PM Staff Requirements: • Valid driver's license • Reliable vehicle • Current auto insurance • Understanding and respect for individuals with special need's • Dependable, patient, and compassionate. YOU MAY BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU: • Are patient, compassionate, and dependable. • Can remain calm during challenging situations • Enjoy building meaningful relationships • Have experience with de-escalation techniques • Have experience working with individuals with special needs, or cognitive delays • Believe in supporting independence and treating every person with dignity and respect.
Experience with de-escalation and/or special education is highly preferred, but a willingness to learn and a person-centered approach are just as important.
