CNC Machinist – Structural Steel Fabrication
Location: Ashland, VA
Starting Pay: $20.00/hour — higher pay available based on experience
Schedule: 1st Shift
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with structural steel fabrication experience. This position operates CNC machinery used to produce steel components and requires strong blueprint-reading, machining, and troubleshooting skills.

What You’ll Do

- Operate and set up CNC machinery used to produce structural steel components.

- Work with combination mill/lathe and drill line machines .

- Review blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machining and production requirements.

- Use hand tools and power tools for machining, fabrication, and assembly work.

- Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain accurate and efficient production.

- Check completed components to verify dimensions, quality, and compliance with design and structural requirements.

- Identify equipment problems and perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

- Enter production information and maintain records using Global Shop (ERP) .

- Communicate with coworkers to support efficient production and a safe work environment.

- Follow established safety and quality procedures throughout the manufacturing process.

Required Qualifications

- Structural steel fabrication experience is required.

- Hands-on experience operating CNC equipment, specifically combination mill/lathe and drill line machines .

- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.

- Experience using hand and power tools.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

- Basic to strong computer skills.

- Experience with Global Shop or a similar ERP system is preferred.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to remain standing and perform physical work for extended periods.
