CNC Lathe & Mill Machinist
1st Shift | Monday–Friday
Pay: Up to $33.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Saturday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 56 hours/week
Temp-to-Hire: Potential opportunity after 90 days
Position Overview
Qualdoc is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to produce precision industrial components using CNC lathes and mills. This position requires strong machining skills, the ability to work from technical drawings, and experience with CNC programming and setup.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and mills to manufacture parts according to shop drawings.
- Review and interpret machining drawings, dimensions, and specifications before production.
- Create and modify CNC programs using G-code .
- Work with Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain controls . Experience with every control is not required.
- Set machines and tooling appropriately to produce consistent, accurate parts.
- Inspect completed work using precision measurement equipment such as:
Calipers
- Micrometers
- Dial bore gauges
- Maintain extremely tight dimensional requirements, including tolerances down to 0.0005 inch .
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments when needed to maintain part quality.
- Follow established safety practices while working around heavy industrial machinery and equipment.
- Maintain dependable attendance, arrive ready to work on schedule, and demonstrate a professional approach.
- Work the required schedule, including Saturdays when scheduled.
- Safely handle materials and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with CNC programming, setup, and machine operation .
- Experience operating CNC lathes and mills .
- Ability to read and understand technical and machining drawings.
- Working knowledge of G-code programming .
- Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, or Heidenhain .
- Ability to use precision inspection and measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate parts.
- Ability to maintain tight machining tolerances.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to safe work practices in a heavy industrial environment.
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to work a full manufacturing schedule of approximately 56 hours per week .
- Availability for Saturday work from 6:00 AM–12:00 PM .
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Comfortable working around CNC machinery and in a heavy industrial environment.
