About the Role:
Northern Kentucky University’s School of Allied Health is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty member to join the online accelerated Master of Science in Health Administration Program. The School of Allied Health, housed within the College of Health and Human Services, is a multidisciplinary unit offering both graduate and undergraduate clinical and non-clinical degree programs. The successful candidate will bring their healthcare management knowledge and experience into the online classroom, to enrich the student experience and facilitate meaningful learning opportunities. This position is a 9-month appointment reporting to the Director of the School of Allied Health. Additional summer teaching opportunities may be available.
Position Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Courses taught may include healthcare systems and environment, healthcare leadership, applied research methods, healthcare quality and project management, and others as needed. Capstone and internship field project management and coordination may be additional responsibilities associated with this faculty position. All program courses are taught online in accelerated 7-week sessions.
- Scholarship: The successful candidate will develop and maintain a record of research and scholarship, as required for tenure.
- Service: Active participation in service and committee work across a variety of levels at the department, college, and university levels is expected. Collaboration with the program director to contribute to ongoing program and course review and development is a key aspect of this role.
Required Education & Qualifications:
Earned doctoral degree in health administration/management, health policy, public health or related discipline. Through education and experience is able to teach the courses identified in the position responsibilities. Evidence of at least 2 years effective teaching in accelerated and online courses. Evidence of individual, collaborative and/or multi-disciplinary research and scholarship that contributes to the advancement their profession. At least 3 years of experience as a leader/administrator in the healthcare industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in online course review, online course development, leading internship field projects and capstone courses. Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Involvement with the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) At least 5 years’ experience as an administrator/executive leader in a healthcare organization Research and scholarship focus in the field of healthcare administration or area of study specific to those in the NKU MSHA curriculum. Documented graduate level education and/or professional experience in the fields of health policy and health care management.
