Job Summary:
An Assistant Special Education Teacher, under the direction and supervision of the Directors, will be responsible for the supervision and one-on-one instruction of students with mild disabilities.
Duties/Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Provides supervision and instruction to students with special needs
- Supervise students with special needs during lunch
- Provide consistent communication to the Directors regarding students
- Provide guidance and support to students in a positive manner
- May be required to teach small groups of students
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must work well under pressure and have the ability to diffuse highly emotional situations
- Experience in Special Education is desired but not required
Education/Experience:
- Earned an Associates Degree OR
- Earned 48 college credit hours OR
- Successfully completing a basic academic skills (parapro) exam within the first week of hire
