POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Construction Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Working closely with the Construction Manager, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, this role helps ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Thrive's quality standards. The Assistant Construction Manager assists with project documentation, scheduling, site coordination, quality control, and communication across teams, contributing to the successful delivery of projects that create our communities. REPORTS TO: Construction Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND DUTIES

Project Support and Site Operations

- Assist the Construction Manager with daily project activities from groundbreaking through completion.

- Keep the job site organized, safe, and running efficiently.

- Keep the Construction Manager informed of project progress, site conditions, and emerging issues.

- Work ahead of the schedule, anticipating needs so the job stays on plan rather than reacting to it.

- Partner with the Purchasing team to keep materials and scopes moving toward successful project completion.

- Ensure construction meets or exceeds all quality standards.

Trade Partner Relationships

- Treat every Trade Partner with respect and transparency at each stage of the build.

- Engage and develop working relationships with inspectors and Trade Partners, grounded in clear communication and mutual respect.

Technology and Administration

- Use Thrives technology platforms for scheduling, payment processing, and project communication.

- Maintain accurate, current project documentation.

Growth and Development

- Work alongside the Construction Manager to build the skills and judgment needed to advance into a Construction Manager role.

- Contribute ideas on how the department and the company can improve.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Associate degree preferred, with two or more years of relevant construction experience.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Effective time management skills, with a proven ability to schedule and organize multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment.

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Experience with Microsoft productivity tools preferred but not required.

- Procore experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

- Able to walk active job sites and climb stairs in buildings of up to five stories for extended periods of time.
