About this role

### What to Expect
As the Technical Lead EOL Ultimate, reporting to the Off-Track Improvement Manager within Ultimate Vehicle Assembly, you will provide technical expertise and leadership across the End of Line operation. The role will focus on ensuring successful vehicle completion through a broad knowledge of the complete vehicle, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, trim and functional systems. You will lead the rectification of complex vehicle concerns, coordinate cross-functional support where required and provide clear technical communication to ensure issues are effectively resolved and vehicles progress through EOL. A key responsibility will be developing the technical capability of Technicians and Principal Technicians through coaching, mentoring and practical knowledge transfer.

What You'll Do

Vehicle Technical Expertise

- Act as a technical specialist for Ultimate Vehicle Assembly, with a broad understanding of the complete vehicle and its systems.

- Provide technical support and guidance to Technicians and Principal Technicians on complex vehicle concerns.

- Apply product knowledge, diagnostics and technical experience to identify causes and determine effective rectification.

- Understand vehicle specification, customer options and the interaction between vehicle systems.

Problem Rectification & Vehicle Progression

- Lead the investigation and rectification of complex vehicle concerns through to effective resolution.

Coordinate support from Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and other specialist functions where required .

- Prioritise technical issues according to vehicle requirements, production needs and customer expectations.

- Identify recurring concerns and ensure appropriate escalation and follow-up.

- Provide clear technical recommendations to support vehicle progression and prevent ineffective or repeat repairs.

Communication & Coordination

- Act as the central technical point of contact for complex issues within Ultimate Vehicle Assembly.

- Clearly communicate technical concerns, findings, risks and required actions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ensure effective communication between EOL, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and other supporting functions.

- Provide clear updates to the Group Leader/Manager on significant technical issues and vehicle risks.

Training & Technical Capability

- Develop Technicians and Principal Technicians through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job technical training.

- Share knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, build standards and effective rectification methods.

- Identify technical knowledge gaps and support appropriate training and development.

- Capture learning from complex vehicle concerns and use it to improve team capability.

- Act as a technical role model, promoting strong diagnostic skills, quality and ownership.

New Product Introduction

- Support the introduction of new Ultimate vehicles, derivatives, systems and customer options.

- Develop product knowledge ahead of new vehicle introduction and transfer key learning into EOL.
- Work with Engineering and launch teams to understand new technologies, known concerns and diagnostic requirements.

Support the creation and improvement of technical work instructions and guidance.

### What You'll Bring
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Significant automotive manufacturing, vehicle assembly, EOL, diagnostics or vehicle validation experience. Broad knowledge of complete vehicle systems, rather than expertise limited to one technical discipline. Strong mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and vehicle functionality knowledge. Proven ability to diagnose and rectify complex vehicle concerns. Experience coordinating technical issues across multiple functions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly. Demonstrable experience of coaching, mentoring and training others. Experience working within low-volume, high-complexity or highly specified vehicle production would be advantageous.
