About this role

### What to Expect
Reporting to the Body Director the Head Of Vehicle Line is responsible for leading the delivery of Vehicle Interiors across all McLaren Programs, operating as a key link between the Function Group the Programme team & the exec
Working within a matrix organisation, they ensure accurate planning and delivery of class-leading products, defining scenarios to support business planning, concept generation and enabling robust delivery of Interior programs via the McLaren Development Process.
Direct link and management of any engineering service provider
Management and delivery resolution to any supply chain issues with the respective department leader & cross functional team

### What You'll Do
• Working with the VLD & execs, define and cascade the Function Group timing plan and budgets for the project, in collaboration with the Function Group, Finance and other relevant areas of the business. • Accountable for accurate forecasting and status of financials associated with programme activities and deliverables across internal resource and supplier spend (tooling investment, D&D and external resource) for the given programme. • Operating as the primary point of contact for the programme, ensure that Function Group programme deliverables are completed to time, cost and quality. o Be the functional point of contact from concept to series. o Planning, monitoring and execution of project activities to ensure project delivery. o Manage the Risk Assessment Tool for the programme, ensuring that DFMEA & Tech Specs are completed by the responsible owners as required. o Establish and control system design, release (ETRS), development and validation plans in association with functional experts. o Lead team to deliver KPI’s: BOM/Investment/Quality concerns/Build deviations/Engineering release/Headcount. • Promote, implement and support a Simultaneous Engineering approach where early engagement from all stakeholders is maximized to ensure maximum efficiency and performance, and avoid late changes or delays in the overall process. • Ensure control and drive efficiency of functional programme delivery through use of available systems (e.g. timesheet outputs) to challenge and ensure appropriate allocation of costs to assigned programme for given function group. • Ensure effective preparation and attendance at relevant forums, providing clear and effective communication on updates and status from department to programme teams, and vice versa. • Generate and support key technology and system decisions with business cases and a clear lifecycle approach, ensuring consequences of decisions are understood and managed appropriately. • Supplier liaison & management. o Lead supply chain activities in association with suppliers, buyers, cost engineering, engineering, SQA and logistics to ensure design to cost, supplier nomination and delivery of components and systems on schedule for all phases of prototype, pilot and pre-production.

### What You'll Bring
Business Knowledge
- Understanding of Product Development processes and tools.
- Project management experience, including agile methodologies.
- Previous experience in a similar role in the Automotive industry (including Automotive suppliers of complex systems).

Essential Functional / Technical Skills
- Engineering degree 2:1 or above.
- Extensive experience of automotive programmes, including project management and system delivery.
- Experience of both high volume and niche volume programs in an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
- Knowledge of DFMEA and its application in automotive environment.
- Proven project leadership and delivery within an APQP or similar framework.
- Knowledge of Automotive technologies, systems and manufacturing techniques.
- Proven problem solving and change management capability (PPS)
- Demonstrable commercial acumen.
- MS Office and SAP or equivalent software experience.
