Job Description: Design / Quoting Engineer The Design / Quoting Engineer position is a dynamic role requiring a balance of 50% design and 50% quoting responsibilities. This role involves using Solidworks for 3D design and preparing precise cost estimates, pricing, and technical quotations for customers based on engineering specifications, drawings, and project requirements. Collaboration with various departments such as sales, engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing, as well as direct customer interaction, is essential to ensure quotes are technically accurate, competitive, and profitable. Responsibilities
- Conduct 3D design using Solidworks.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, pricing, and technical quotations based on engineering specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and customers to ensure accurate and competitive quotes.
- Review customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs), drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, tooling, machining, fabrication, and outsourced services.
- Develop accurate and competitive customer quotations and proposals.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to assess feasibility, production methods, and lead times.
- Coordinate with purchasing to obtain vendor pricing and subcontractor quotes.
- Analyze historical costing data and manufacturing processes to improve quote accuracy.
- Maintain quote documentation, pricing records, and update ERP/CRM systems.
- Support sales teams with technical clarifications and customer communication.
- Participate in quote review meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and quality expectations.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in 3D design and mechanical engineering using Solidworks.
- Experience in preparing quotes and cost estimates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with 0+ years of experience or an associate's degree with 3+ years of experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
