About this role
Electrical Engineer
Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of your designs and staying involved beyond the drafting stage? We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team supporting the development of complex industrial equipment and engineered systems. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a combination of electrical design, hands-on troubleshooting, system integration, testing, and commissioning. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute throughout the full engineering lifecycle, from early-stage design and component selection through manufacturing support, testing, validation, and implementation. This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and enjoys seeing their designs come to life.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Take ownership of electrical engineering activities and technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and supporting engineering documentation.
- Select electrical components and develop Bills of Materials to support procurement and manufacturing.
- Support testing, inspections, validation, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with technicians and other engineering disciplines during equipment assembly, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Review designs and engineering documentation to identify issues, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop practical electrical solutions for complex equipment and applications.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of electrical design practices and engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues during development, testing, and implementation.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and other project stakeholders to move projects successfully from design through completion.
- Ensure electrical designs and activities align with applicable safety requirements, standards, and engineering best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Several years of progressive electrical engineering experience within an industrial, manufacturing, automation, or engineered equipment environment.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD or similar electrical design and drafting tools.
- Experience developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Ability to independently manage design details and take ownership of engineering deliverables.
- Experience selecting electrical components and developing detailed Bills of Materials.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and control circuits.
- Experience supporting electrical testing, troubleshooting, quality, or system validation activities.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment where electrical systems integrate with mechanical and other technical disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel.
- Comfortable working in a role that combines design engineering with hands-on technical involvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience with controls, automation, or machine/equipment design.
- Exposure to PLCs, instrumentation, industrial controls, or related technologies.
- Experience supporting system integration, equipment testing, or commissioning.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation from other engineering disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, wiring, testing, or troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting complex industrial equipment or custom-engineered systems.
- Previous experience providing technical leadership, owning engineering projects, or mentoring junior team members.
- Experience working throughout multiple stages of the product or project lifecycle.
Why This Opportunity?
This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who wants more ownership and variety than a traditional desk-based design position. You won’t simply complete designs and hand them off. You’ll have the opportunity to follow your work through design, build, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning, working closely with the technical teams responsible for bringing those designs to life. The role offers a strong balance of electrical design, technical ownership, hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration, with the opportunity to make a visible impact on complex engineering projects. This is primarily an on-site position within a collaborative engineering and technical environment. You’ll work closely with engineers, technicians, and other project stakeholders while remaining actively involved throughout the development and implementation process.
# If you’re an Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving technical challenges, and seeing your designs move from concept into the real world, we’d love to connect.
