About the role
We are looking for an experienced Finance
& Compliance professional to strengthen the organization’s governance and
compliance framework. The role will be responsible for managing the
Foundation’s finance operations, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA)
compliance, statutory and regulatory reporting, grant accounting, financial
controls, and audit requirements. The role will ensure that all domestic and
foreign contributions are received, accounted for, utilized, and reported in
accordance with applicable laws, donor requirements, and internal policies.
The
position will work closely with Finance, Programs, Fundraising, Procurement,
Human Resources (HR), Legal, auditors, banks, and senior management to ensure
strong financial governance and compliance. The ideal candidate should have
strong working experience in a corporate environment, excellent stakeholder and
reporting skills, and experience working in a multi-functional business
environment.
What you’ll do
# · Ensure end-to-end compliance with the
Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) and applicable rules,
notifications and regulatory requirements.
# · Supervise proper accounting and
documentation of foreign contributions, including donor-wise, project-wise,
location-wise and purpose-wise tracking.
# · Develop and review to implement
compliance policies, SOPs, controls and governance frameworks for Foundation.
# · Monitor utilization of foreign
contributions against approved objectives and donor/project budgets. Ensure
that foreign contribution is not utilized for prohibited or non-permissible
purposes.
# · Conduct periodic compliance reviews, risk
assessments and internal audits to identify gaps and recommend corrective
actions.
# · Maintain complete records, supporting
documents, donor correspondence and utilization evidence for regulatory
inspection.
# · Partner with Legal, Finance, HR,
Procurement, Operations and other teams to ensure adherence to applicable
regulations and internal policies.
# · Coordinate with external consultants,
auditors, and government authorities, wherever required. Coordinate FCRA
audits, regulatory reviews and responses to observations/notices.
# · Prepare periodic compliance dashboards
and management reports, highlighting risks, pending actions and key
developments.
# · Conduct compliance awareness sessions and
ensure employees understand relevant organizational policies and regulatory
requirements.
# · Establish strong documentation and
record-management practices to ensure audit readiness.

# o Project/program-specific

# · Review grant budgets versus actual
expenditure and identify variances. Prepare donor financial reports and
utilization statements.
# · Coordinate with Program/Fundraising teams
before financial commitments are made to donors.
Requirements
Skills
& Qualifications
· Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
· Chartered Accountancy Intermediate (CA Inter), Cost and Management
Accountant (CMA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, or Master
of Commerce (M.Com) with strong Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) and
Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) experience may also be considered for the
Manager level.
· 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably with an NGO, Foundation, or
Section 8 Company.
· Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in FCRA and NGO financial
compliance is mandatory.
· Experience in grant accounting, donor reporting, internal controls, and
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development.
· Good understanding of applicable corporate, statutory, and regulatory
requirements.
· High integrity, resilience, accountability, and cultural sensitivity.
· Reports to: Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) / Head of Finance / Finance Controller.
