Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Front Desk employee to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures, making it essential for candidates to have experience in various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This position may require a few hours of Medical Assisting per week.

Responsibilities

- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures

- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and welcoming demeanor.

- Check-in patients, verify their information, and update electronic medical records accurately.

- Answer phone calls, address inquiries, and transfer calls to appropriate personnel.

- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient time management.

- Assist patients in completing necessary forms and understanding office policies.

- Collect patient co-pays, process payments accurately, and maintain proper documentation.

- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area.

- Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient flow and use of resources.

- Insurance Eligibility

- Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting patient history

- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients for adverse reactions

- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with medical coding standards (ICD coding)

- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly

- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating referrals

Qualifications

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

- Knowledge of ENT/Allergy/Asthma is desired but not required

- Prior work experience as a Medical Assistant

- Familiarity with basic life support (BLS) protocols and emergency response procedures

- Proficiency in EHR systems for effective patient documentation

- Understanding of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments effectively
