Position Description

We are seeking experienced Land Agents to assist in the acquisition of land rights across multiple projects. A qualified candidate will review and analyze land documents and mapping to determine rights required for acquisition. Transactional documents will then be prepared to support the acquisition activities. This role requires a high level of accuracy, regulatory compliance, coordination with internal departments and exceptional communication in a fast-paced environment.

Positions available: 3

- 1 position - Candidate must be located in or around San Diego area (occasional client site or office visits required).

- 2 positions - California remote

Primary Responsibilities

- Prepare document packages for the acquisition of easement rights (ROW and/or Service Line Agreements), temporary or permanent, with customers.

- Acquisition and land rights due diligence activities.

- Reading and interpreting legal descriptions and title documents.

- Reviewing and redlining land-related agreements and documents.

- Conduct complex analysis and review of design plans, title, land descriptions, survey plat maps, and tract/parcel maps.

- Coordinate acquisition of land rights with legal, planning, survey, and project teams.

- Research and review owner records for identifying ownership status and prior rights of impacted properties.

- Review design drawings to determine rights needed and request and prepare exhibits for electric and gas distribution service.

- Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, including federal agencies, Tribal representatives, legal counsel, and staff while maintaining confidentiality and strong professional relationships.

- Track project status in multiple platforms, including uploading correspondence, and ability to present updates upon request.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

- Proven background in acquisition and transactions.

- Familiarity with tribal and federal lands.

- Strong expertise in title and utility design plan review.

- Familiarity with survey mapping and county assessor records.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, OneDrive and SharePoint experience a plus.

- Right-of-Way (ROW) knowledge and experience is preferred.

- Experience in creating simple exhibits in AutoCAD LT.

- Ability to manage, plan and process multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

- Excels in meticulous, repetitive tasks that require consistency and accuracy.

- Ability to work independently.

- Ability to manage dual systems (Teams, Outlook, etc).

Education and Experience:

- 5+ years of experience in related transactional real estate work.

- College degree in related field is preferred.
