Position Description

Monument is seeking right-of-way and land Agents in California to support various project efforts. Agents will be responsible for performing aspects of right-of-way activities including, assisting in negotiating favorable terms to various land and right-of-way-related agreements, and other documents necessary for the construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities secured on behalf of the company’s client. This position is remote from California, but Agents may be required to occasionally travel to various site locations in California.

IMMEDIATE OPEN POSITIONS:

- Agent

Annual Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 DOE

- Must be located in N. California (Fresno, Sacramento, Bay Area)

- Must have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience.

- Experience working with PG&E a plus.

- Agent & Case Manager

Annual Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 DOE

- Must be located in N. California (Fresno, Sacramento, Bay Area)

- Must have 5+ years of industry experience.

- REQUIRED: PG&E experience

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of right-of-way agents responsible for land acquisition, easement negotiations, permitting, and stakeholder engagement activities supporting electric transmission and distribution projects throughout California.

- Manage complex right-of-way case portfolios, providing strategic guidance and quality oversight to ensure the successful negotiation, execution, and administration of land rights agreements, permits, and real estate transactions in support of client project objectives, schedules, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Identifies land ownership from public records.

- Research, review, and analyze land titles of lesser complexity. Seeks to identify defects.

- Negotiates the acquisition of right-of-way, easements, and other property interests of lesser complexity, on behalf of the company’s client.

- Reviews, prepares, analyzes, and interprets all Land and Right-of-Way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses.

- Maintains up-to-date records of contact attempts and parcel-related data in the company database.

- Responsible for negotiating, administering, managing, and protecting clients’ real property rights, including third-party uses on the client’s owned land and property activities on the client’s easements.

- Ensure compliance with the client’s land policies and jurisdictional requirements.

- Review and analyze property rights.

- Prepare various real estate agreements, including easement documents, consents, and valuations.

- Perform site inspections and evaluations.

- Travel to various site locations using a personal vehicle.

- Possess sound business acumen and exceptional client skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external teams.

- Possess flexibility, tact, and excellent interpersonal skills.

- Excellent oral and written communication.

- Must be organized, motivated, self-reliant, and work with minimal direction.

- Works effectively with internal leaders as well as external clients.

- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

- California Real Estate License is required.

- Notary Public designation or willing to attain certification.

- 4 year college degree preferred.
