The Global Commercial Services – Global and U.S. Large Enterprise Client Group manages some of American Express' largest and most strategically important commercial clients, delivering differentiated solutions that create value for our customers and drive sustainable growth for American Express.

The U.S. Industry Verticals team combines strategic client management, consultative problem solving, and commercial execution to accelerate B2B payments growth across some of the largest companies in the U.S.

This is not a traditional account management role. Our Client Managers operate as trusted advisors and payments consultants with commercial ownership developing a deep understanding of a client's business, uncovering pain points and growth opportunities, and connecting those needs to differentiated American Express solutions.

We are looking for someone who brings the structured thinking of a consultant, the commercial instincts of a salesperson, and the relationship skills of a strategic account leader.

This role will report to the U.S. Verticals Director supporting the Manufacturing industry portfolio.

- 5+ years of experience in strategic relationship management, enterprise sales, business development, management consulting, or another client-facing commercial/advisory role.
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and build relationships with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders within complex organizations.
- Strong consultative problem-solving skills with the ability to uncover underlying business needs and translate insights into commercial opportunities.
- Proven track record of identifying, developing and closing meaningful growth opportunities.
- Strong financial and analytical acumen, including the ability to connect solutions to quantifiable business outcomes and ROI.
- Excellent executive communication, storytelling, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership, intellectual curiosity, adaptability and bias toward action.
- Ability to influence and mobilize partners effectively across a large, matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of B2B payments, commercial payments or financial services preferred; demonstrated ability to quickly develop expertise in complex industries also valued.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
